Lanolin and Vitamin D

Lanolin is a waxy material that is derived from sheep's wool. With lanolin's water-resistant properties, it protects the sheep's coat from the environment. Lanolin is a by-product of wool farming which is why it is not used by the vegan community, or some of the vegetarian community.

Vitamin D

There are two types of Vitamin D: D2 (ergocalciferol) and D3 (cholecalciferol). D2 is derived from plants and D3 commonly from lanolin. There have been a lot of studies stating that D2 is the less-superior of the two claiming that it doesn't meet the body's requirement of the vitamin.

Vit D3 (Vitashine)

We developed a vegan Vitamin D3 alternative to Lanolin which is derived from lichen - a small unique plant species consisting of a symbiotic association of a fungus with an algae. It is identical Vitamin D3 to lanolin other than the source. Vitashine (Vit D3) is proudly registered with The Vegan Society and is Vegetarian Society Approved. We offer Vitashine (Vit D3) in a spray or chewable tablet. The spray is recommended for children or people that do not like taking tablets. The tablets can be chewed or swallowed to make them suitable for everyone!
