Bonjour,
(in English: Hello, yes it is fine to take our MultiVit during pregnancy. A combination of 1 x tablet of MultiVit and 2 x Capsules of Omega-3 is very beneficial.)
I am concerned that I may have too much iodine in my diet if I take the multivit alongside whatever idione i get naturally from my diet. Is this something people have queried before (if there is a case for getting too much?)Hi, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and other similar regulatory bodies set recommended daily intake levels for supplementation to take into account likely/average intake from diets too. So for nutrients such as Iodine, you will obtain 100% of the recommended intake of 150mcg, but that is well within the established safe intake range.
Hi, my blood values came back with a strong zinc deficiency (fits my symptoms of hair loss etc.) even though I take multivit for years now. I eat relatively healthy but vegan. Any recommendations maybe? I am relatively stunned and somewhat trusted the supplement...Hi, there are many reasons that can contribute to Zinc deficiency and how the body is (or isn't) accruing enough. It is worth speaking to your Doctor to run through your blood test results in full as it is highly likely there will be another reason, such as insufficient protein intake or perhaps higher than desirable phytate levels in your diet.
Hello!
I have an Iron, D3 + B12 + Magnesium deficiency.
How Should I proceed with supplementing myself as In the Multivit there is already some B12 + D3, etc..
if I take the B12 + D3 separately + the multivitamin, it might be too much..
Many thanks for your answer!Hi, our MultiVit contains a maintenance dose of Vitamin D3 and a high dose of Vitamin B12. It is fine to add additional Vitamin D3 alongside our MutiVit. There is no need to take additional B12.
%2000 of B12 in multi vitamin seems too much a day. Plus there is phenylalanine in your Vollagen which I seen reports of not to take if have high blood pressure. Why is it added in your supplement. I take your omega tablets and multivitamin but concerned about the B12 amount.
SueHi, many people are chronically deficient in Vitamin B12. This is a water-based Vitamin which means the body grabs what it needs and the rest passes harmlessly through. We add an elevated level to give the body chance to absorb more. Phenylalanine is an Essential Amino Acid and is a structural component of Collagen, hence why it is part of the Vollagen composition. At the level used and consumed, it is safe and beneficial, especially in a wider Amino Acid composition as is the case with Vollagen. If you have a history of high blood pressure, please consult your Doctor before taking any supplements.
If I take 2 capsules of Vollagen, 2 capsules of Omega-3 and 1 capsule of Multivit daily, will it be enough to cover the needs for vitamins and minerals? Or do I need still to take others such as Bone Care?Hi, that sounds like a very good combination. There is no need to take Bone Care on top. The only additional things to keep an eye on are your Calcium and Magnesium intake, as we couldn't physically fit in any more than we used in the MultiVit formula (otherwise the tablets would be too big).
I have been diagnosed with alpha gal so nothing mammal derived. As you are vegan I see that is not a problem. However, carrageenan (red algea and red seaweed) carries the Alpha gal sugars. Is that an ingredient in your pills. I know because of alpha gal I am not eating a balanced diet and am looking for a vitamin that I can safely take. Thank you for checking.Hi, there is no Carrageenan in our MultiVit product.
I'm vegan and have been taking Vegetology MultiVit daily for several years now and my blood tests keep coming back with extremely high B12 levels so my doctor keeps telling me to stop supplementing B12. Do you have any other multivitamins with a lower B12 dose in them?Hi, our Chewable Children's MultiVit contains 2.5µg Vitamin B12 so is worth considering. One key point though is that B12 is a water-based Vitamin and the body grabs what it needs with the rest passing harmlessly through. It is worth querying what is meant by high B12 levels, as a good, high B12 status is very positive (and rare).
Hi, My son has cerebral palsy and I have to crush all but very small tablets. I'm assuming that your MultiVit tablets are of a size I would have to crush. Is this OK and, if so, are they very hard? I have found that hardness is very variable in tablets. Most I can cut and then crush. A few I have just had to give up on, eg. D Mannose - I had to give up on and have gone back to the expensive powder from the US. Thanks, MazHi, our standard MultiVit is hard and coated due to the way the formula has been designed. However, our Kids MultiVit is a soft, chewable tablet that is easy to crush.
Hi there
Interested in your multivitamins however noticed that both blueberry and green tea are included I this mix.
As far as I understand the polyphenols in green tee and blueberies bind with none heme iron and drastically reduce iron absorption and of course this is an iron supplement also which will be none heme.
Please can you explain your considerations on this and how these two elements interact.
Thank you.Hi, we use very selected antioxidant-rich extracts within our 'superfood complex'. They don't have any negative impact on the absorption of iron.
Where is your products made & where are they shipped from?
ThanksHi, we manufacture everything in UK and ship worldwide from our UK warehouse.
Hello, can you please tell me which (if any) of the vitamins/minerals in this product are in synthetic forms? Thank youHi, the minerals we use are all obtained in their natural forms.
I'm checking your MultiVit Vegan Supplements and I cannot find the origin of some of the vitamins, like de B12. Is it possible for you to provide me some extra information about them? Thank you in advanceHi, our Vitamin B12 is produced using a fermentation process. If you need information about any of our other ingredients, please feel free to drop us a message via Facebook or email and the team will be happy to answer.
Where can I source your product in Australia pleaseHi, we ship directly to Australia from our website :-)
Is product is halal certified?Hi, our products are all Halal suitable but we do not presently carry certification with any particular Halal organisation.
Hi,
I have ordered Multi-Vitamins today. I was looking for Omega 3 with EPA and DHA, I found Vegan Omega‑3 Supplements tabs. This is a product of yours.
My question is "Can I take this with a Multi-Vitamin" tablet? Because Omega 3 has D3 and MultiVitamin also has D3. and I will end up taking 200% D3 per day. Is it ok to have 200% D3 per day?
Please help me with this.
Thank you.Hi, we consider a combination of our Omega-3 and MultiVit formulas as the ideal daily supplementation regime. The standard recommended intake of Vitamin D3 is notoriously very low (5mcg / 200iu), so most Health Practitioners recommend much higher, and the recognised upper safe daily intake is 100mcg / 4000iu). A combined 10mcg / 400iu that you will get from taking Omega-3 + MultiVit is a really good, very safe, intake. During Autumn and Winter months, this is actually still too low for many people so it is worth topping up to around 25mcg / 1000iu per day.
Hi, what's the expiration date for multi vit tabs.
Kind regards,
NicoleHi, our MultiVit has a shelf-life of 24 months. It is manufactured regularly, so it is unlikely you will receive a batch with less than 12 months remaining. If you would like to know the shelf-life date of a batch immediately prior to ordering, please contact our team at [email protected] and they will be happy to help.
Hi, is your multivitamin safe for pregnancy even though it contains vitamin A? I thought that supplementing with this vitamin during pregnancy is not safeHi, it is safe because the level of Vitamin A doesn't exceed the standard recommended intake level. However, you are correct that it is ideal to leave Vitamin A, hence why our Pregnancy formula provides the perfect Multivitamin option for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Are your supplements free from Animal Testing please?Hi, yes we are 100% against any form of animal testing, animal cruelty, or animal-origin ingredients.
Hey is this ok to take when breastfeeding? ThanksHi, yes our MultiVit is suitable and beneficial to take while Breastfeeding.
Hello, so I have your multivitamins and they have developed some black spots on them. Are they still safe to consume?Hi, if the Multivitamins have been exposed to moisture (i.e. if the bottle has been left open, in a high humidity area), some small black spots can form on the surface. As long as the MultiVit bottles remain within shelf-life, they are absolutely fine to take.
Hi,Both my multi and vollagen say to 'take with food'. I usually take my vitamins at night, which is usually 2-3 hours after eating. Just wondering if the 'take with food' is for proper absorption or if it is just to prevent an upset stomach. I haven't had any upset stomachs from taking them at night, but if it is better to take them with food I can adjust my routine.Thank youHi, it is always best to take all supplements with food to achieve optimum absorption of the nutrients. 2-3 hours after eating is absolutely fine. The advice is really to avoid taking supplements first thing in the morning on an empty stomach after a night's sleep.
Hi,What form of iodine is in Pregnancy and MultiVit?Kind regardsHi, we use Potassium Iodide in Pregnancy and currently use a Bladderwrack seaweed extract for the Iodine in MultiVit
Hi just wondering which form of folate and b12 you use precisely? I am sensitive to some and want to be safe. ThanksHi, we use 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (for Folate) and Cyanocobalamin (for B12) in MultiVit.
Hi, I use several of your products, I'm wondering what is the scientific basis of including resveritrol in the multivitamin? Is this the same nutrient and evidence promoted by Dr David Sinclair that has since been found to be wrong?
Many Thanks DavidHi, we incorporate Resveratrol as it is a powerful and highly beneficial natural antioxidant. It appears the individual you reference made some very specific claims about Resveratrol that have been questioned. We use it as antioxidant, and its benefits in that respect are proven and without question.
Is your multivit made up of methylated vitamins? What does it mean when you say chelated ingredients?Methylation is relevant to some B Vitamins in order to ensure absorption, and yes, we use Methylated forms of those specific items. We use Mineral Chelates, which are advanced forms of specific minerals in order to achieve optimum absorption and avoid negative interaction between multiple minerals.
Can you recommend any supplements to help an overactive bladder?Hi, it is worth trying our MultiVit formula, which contains several nutrients that have strong links to bladder support. Please keep in touch and let us know how things go.
Why is the nutritional content of Calcium and Magnesium 15%?We would love to include more Calcium and Magnesium into our MultiVit formula, but there literally isn’t any more room.
Hi,
I was wondering if you have a multivitamin without iron? I get enough iron in my diet but I need to make up for some other nutrients! Thanks for your time!Hi, at this time we don't have a multivitamin formula without iron.
Hi, i have question about vegetology multivit. In pills is 21mg of vitamin b6 and i found in internet information of daily portion for man is 1,3mg-1,7mg. It is safeHi, Vitamin B6 is a a water-based vitamin and one that many people are deficient in. We use elevated levels of various B Vitamins so the body can grab what it needs and the rest passes through harmlessly. All levels are well within established safe ranges.
Hi, I am interested in taking your multi vitamins, do I need to take omega supplements along with the multi vitamin?Hi, the MultiVit is a brilliant 'catch-all' for vitamins and minerals. If it could be physically possible for us to include the Omega-3 too, we would've loved to do so and create the ultimate daily supplement. Sadly the tablet would be too big. A daily combination of our MultiVit + Omega-3 supplements provides an excellent regime.
Is this multivitamin ok for taking while trying to get pregnant/during pregnancy?Hi, yes the MultiVit is suitable. However, our Pregnancy Care is ideal because as the formula is specially designed to support throughout all stages of pregnancy and into breastfeeding.
Is this vitamin gentle on the stomach and easy to absorb?Hi, we have carefully designed the MultiVit formula to provide optimum absorption and the tablet itself is structured (and coated) to manage release in order to ensure gentleness and effectiveness.
I write today to request any
independent certificates of analysis or documentation that may exists supporting your multivit vegan supplement’s nutritional content. Would you please share more information on how the nutritional content breakdown was made and if it was independently verified and by whom?Hi, we are governed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and as such as conduct testing at accredited laboratories to demonstrate the levels of nutrients in our products. In addition, we are regularly inspected by local authorities who test products at random. We have built-up extensive stability data to ensure the nutrient levels remain throughout the stated shelf-life.
Why does your multivitamin have Vit A and not B Carotene as the latter is much safer to absorb. I don't understand this. Yet for the menopause product you use use the latter and not Vit A.Hi, our MultiVit and Menopause formulas both use the same Vitamin A... it is made up of a combination of Beta-Carotene and Vitamin A Concentrate. There isn't the room on the MultiVit label to give the bracketed breakdown, but it is confirmed on the MultiVit product webpage.
I like to try you product "Multi Vit" as you saying pure VEGAN multivitamins and minerals but I am 70 years old man, I am looking for something like over 50 years . Do you have product for over 50 years or more? Please let me know.Thank you.Hi, our MultiVit formula is ideal for individuals aged 50+, so hopefully you will consider trying it. Please let us know what you think of it!
What is the source and origin of the vitamin K2 included in the Multivit supplement sold on your website?
I look forward to your reply.
Regards,
BhaveshHi, the Vitamin K2 is produced using a fermentation method.
Could you give a precise value on how much choline does the MultiVit supplement contain? I would like to know if it is the recommended daily dose or if I should look for other ways to supplement choline.Hi, MultiVit contains 15mg of Choline Bitartrate. It is equivalent to 6mg of actual Choline.
Dear Vegetology scientist team,
Can you please let me know if the MultiVit is safe for patients with hemophilia?Hi, we strongly recommend getting individual advice from your Doctor or Health Practitioner before taking any supplements if you have hemophilia. This is because there are many factors that need to be considered on an individual basis, and while there are many beneficial nutrients with MultiVit, there could be specific nutrients your Doctor would like you to avoid or limit.
I'm from India and I support vegetarianism and veganism.
One question regarding the vegan products you use. Can you please tell us from which source does magnesium stearate you use for your vegan products?
Looking forward for the same.Hi, we use a small amount of magnesium stearate to help hold the tablet together. The stearic acid is from vegetable oil origin (predominantly Canola / rape seed), and this is complexed with Magnesium, which is a mineral and obtained from the ground.
Hello. I saw in Q&A that you use folic acid Methylfolate (5-methyltetrafolate) form. I wonder why you do not mention this on the productlabel?Hi, the product label states 'Folate', which is the standard, internationally-recognised term we have to use to satisfy various regions.
Does your multivitamin (or other products) contain soy?Hi, our MultiVit doesn't contain any Soy. The only product at present (time of writing being August 2023) in our range containing a Soy derivative is our Menopause Support supplement, which contains Soy Isoflavones.
Is there a multivitamin like this one without iron?Hi, at present we only have the one (Iron-containing) MultiVit formula.
Hi!
I have some of your multivitamin supplements that went out of date last month. One pot is completely unopened & one is half full.
Are they still ok to take for a few more months or would you recommend just discarding them? And is it better to dispose of them in food waste or general waste?
Many thanks,Hi, as long as the MultiVit bottle has been stored correctly since you have had it, the contents will be fine to consume as long as you do so within the next 3 months. The 2 year shelf life is our statutory duration, but we do test for far longer. The MultiVit tablet in particular has very good long-term stability when stored correctly. If you want to discuss further, please email us or send a message via Facebook.
which of your products contain ingredients that are produced using fermentation and /or have algal as an ingredient - is it just the Multi Vit please?
(and if you are happy to do so, could you also advise what is used to ferment eg probiotic?)
- are herbicides used on any ingredient material regarding any of your products please?Hi, the Vitamin B12 we use is produced using fermentation, and this is present in a lot of our products. The Amino Acids in Vollagen are also produced using fermentation. The fermentation is performed using plant-based substrates. Our Omega-3 oil is of algal origin and we use two algal extracts within the Phytodroitin technology that is in Bone Care. No herbicides are used on any ingredients in our products.
Hi, I noticed your vitamin contains some fillers which is considered harmful to your health when taking for overtime. Such as magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, silicone dioxide. Is it necessary to have such unnecessary fillers in your products. Can we not have those ?Hi Amy, these ingredients aren't 'fillers', they are excipients that are required to hold the tablet together. Otherwise the tablet would be a pile of unstable powder :-) . The excipients we use are present in very low concentrations and are inert. Unfortunately online blogs and articles give misleading information. We wouldn't dream of using any ingredients unless we were completely satisfied regarding their safety and suitability.
Hi, I am a traditional Hindu vegetarian, meaning my diet is meat & fish & egg free, as well as onion & garlic free.
I currently take Bone Care from you on a subscription and thinking to take Multi Vik from you. But my research on your website came to nil whether it contains onion & garlic, which I do not want. Please also confirm that the current Bone Care is free from onion & garlic, as I have not asked this question before.Hi, Bone Care and MultiVit are both free from onion and garlic. The product pages each contain full ingredient lists and you can also download copies of labels.
Is it okay to chew the multi vitamin? I wish you would come out with a chewable version. I've taken the chewable vitamin d3 for many years and love how easy it is to take as I can't swallow pills.Hi, the MultiVit is coated in order to protect some of the oxygen-sensitive nutrients, mask the taste and also manage the absorption rates. It isn't designed to be chewed. We don't recommend trying to chew, as it is hard by design.
Are you cruelty free globally?Hi, yes we are absolutely cruelty-free universally!
Greetings, I just realized that my last bottle of the older batch of Multivit I had ordered has expired, and I was wondering if it's still okay to consume.
The one I have expired in 05/2023, and it's from your older packaging of the 90 capsules. It is unopened and hasn't suffered much in terms of temperature changes.
Thanks in advance,Hi, if the product has been stored in ambient conditions and remained unopened, it will be fine to consume. We allow some 'buffer' time when stating the Best Before date versus the stability data we have. Please consume within the next 3 months.
I've noticed that MultiVit has a distinct odour, why is that?Hi, this is down to the nutrients. We use highly potent natural active ingredients, which come with inherent odours.
Is ok to take sea moss with the daily multivitamins? Hi, yes sea moss is a really good and nutritious compound. Please just check your sea moss source isn't fortified with vitamins or minerals. Otherwise it will be absolutely fine to combine with our daily MultiVit.
Are your vitamins synthetic? You don't specify that on the website.Hi, we use natural sources of Vitamins with the exception of Vitamin C, which is synthetic. This is because we are not satisfied with the level of food wastage and energy to extract Vitamin C from fruits (etc.) when the synthetic process is so straight forward, clean, and sustainable.
Hi, how much of the Vitamin B3 (Niacin) component of the MultiVit is made up of Nicotinic Acid (if any), as opposed to Nicotinamide? Thanks!Hi, all of our Vitamin B13 is made up of Nicotinamide
Hi, I was wondering how long the vitamins can be used after ordering? I am thinking about buying MultiVit but will switch to Pregnancy Care once I get pregnant, and I wonder whether I would still be able to use the MultiVit tablets I buy before my pregnancy, afterwards.Hi, MultiVit and Pregnancy Care both have 24 month shelf-life. We manufacturer regularly, so we expect product you receive to have at least 12 months' shelf-life remaining. Unopened bottles correctly stored will last longer. If you do have remaining unopened bottles down the line, please feel free to get in touch (via [email protected] or Facebook Messenger) and we can advise based on the batch(es) you have.
Do you use bulking agents in your products and if so what are they and how much is used, thank youHi, no we don't use 'bulking agents' as such. All tablets require excipients to hold them together (otherwise they would be a pile of powder). All ingredient lists are available on the Vegetology website product pages if you scroll down.
Hello,
Wich form of vitamin B12 is used in MultiVit: cyanocobalamine or methylcobalamine?Hi, in MultiVit we use B12 as Cyanocobalamin
Hi I need more calcium and magnesium as a 62 year old woman. in addition to your multivitamin I would like to continue taking my calcium citrate 300mg - 600mg in afternoon and my magnesium glycinate 120mg - 240mg in evening. Can I take my omega 3, multi and the calcium at the same time? I take supplements in afternoon as I have to wait several hours after levothyroxine in morning and magnesium in evening to maximize calcium and magnesium absorption and limit them canceling each other out! Thanks!Hi, yes this sounds like a very good combination. We would love to include more Calcium and Magnesium into our MultiVit formula, but there literally isn't any more room.
Hello,I am one of your customers, and I´ve noticed that VEGVIT has gone up in sodium content.Per 100mg:
BEFORE:0mg
NOW:0.2mg
Could you please tell me why this increase? Is it because the need to keep IODINE levels right?
It was very good before at 0mg and it tasted/smelled better.
I hope you will keep sodium levels as low as possible in all your products.0.0mg per 100g should be your GOAL.
Have you ever thought of making PROBIOTICS(UK/European sources)
GARLIC CAPSULES(UK/European sources).
Peace,Jose LorenzoHi, the MultiVit formula hasn't changed. There have been changes to how the calculations are done for the 'Nutritional Facts' table. The sodium amount just comes from Molybdenum and Vitamin C, both of which are incorporated in the formula in their sodium salt forms. At the moment our manufacturing facility is set-up to handle probiotics.
Hi, does the green tea extract mean that this product has caffeine in it?Hi, we use a selective extract of Green Tea that is rich in its antioxidant compounds. It doesn't contain Caffeine.
Buongiorno, volevo chiedere se l' integratore MultiVit può interagire con l'assunzione della pillola estroprogestinica.
GrazieSalve, non ci aspettiamo interazioni negative (Hi, we do not expect any negative interactions).
Hello! I am interested in buying the VegVit multivitamin. I am just wondering why this product is not using P-5-P form of vitamin b6? And also the dosage of folic acid seems a little bit high. 200 would be more optimal? Thank you.Hi, we use B6 as part of a complex of B Vitamins. The Pyridoxine HCl form works perfectly in this combination. The slightly elevated Folate level of 400mcg is to address this common deficiency in large proportions of the population.
What type of folic acid is in your multivitamin? Folic acid? Methylfolate?Hi, we use Methylfolate (5-methyltetrafolate) form.
I have read in many articles that it is good to avoid supplementing iron, especially men and women in menopause, because it can cause accumulations over time and various types of problems. Unless there is a deficiency evident in blood tests, which is quite rare in men. In addition, the daily iron requirement for men is 10 mg and 15 mg for women. In your multivitamin, which I have been taking for years, there are 14 mg of iron, so for a man, in addition to being useless, it could cause a harmful accumulation in the long run. I worried about having a potential iron buildup. Couldn't you make a multivitamin for men without or with less iron?Hi, we use 14mg in our MultiVit formula as it is the Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) as identified by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) as the ideal daily intake. At 14mg per day, we have no concerns about possible negative effects or undesirable accumulations. This is especially due to the high efficacy Amino Acid chelate form of Iron that we use. In an ideal world we would have several MultiVit variants, but to be honest, each product is so expensive to launch and maintain, we have to prioritise.
Hi there, I've been taking your MultiVit and Omega-3 supplements for a few years now. They are excellent products and well worth ordering from UK (I'm in Australia). As I'm osteopenic, I prefer to take additional calcium daily (as calcium carbonate 600mg without Vitamin D). If your MultiVit contained extra calcium to bring it up to about 600mg it would be perfect! Since many women require extra calcium, I'm curious as to why the calcium level in MultiVit is so relatively low? Kind regards, Robyn ClareHi, thank you for the kind comments. In terms of Calcium content, it is literally down to available space. in the tablet On consideration of all other components, we included as much Calcium as was physically possible without making the tablet even bigger than it already is. Calcium is very fine as a powder, meaning binders are needed and a lot of space is required incorporate it into a tablet.
Hello, I have been buying your product for such a long time, before you had the multivitamin. My question is I purchase your vitamin B12 and Vitamin D and omega. If I buy the multivitamin and take that every day instead of the others would that be enough. I take a vitamin D every day and B12 and omega every other day. I just don't want to take too much of the products as well as a multivitamin. Thank you so muchHi, thank you for being with us for such a long time! You're the reason we do what we do. Taking MultiVit + Omega-3 is a really good daily regime. That will provide a good collective level of both Vitamin D3 and B12. If you do want an additional dose of B12 or D3, you can always consider taking e.g. 1 per week or per 2 weeks (of B12, D3 or both) to further boost the intake. Our general view though is MultiVit + Omega-3 is a perfect start point and ongoing daily regime to try.
Can you advise if it is possible to take Multivit along side your energy boost vit. I'm looking for an overall vitamin to take but wondered as a short term boost if these could be taken together? Thank youHi, we don't recommend using MultiVit and Active Energy on the same day, as it will result in undesirable doubling up of some of the nutrients. Our advice is to start with the MultiVit, and hopefully that will provide a good energy boost itself. If you do feel you need an extra boost, we recommend using them sequentially (i.e. MultiVit on Monday, Active Energy on Tuesday, repeat).
Hi, I'm wondering why the Veganuary bundle includes B12, D3, and Vit C supplements when the Multivitamin included has levels at 100% or more for these? If it relates to absorption deficits, how can I be sure I'm not overdosing on specific vitamins or minerals. Also, I need to take a Calcium supplement which will being me closer to about 75% daily intake, but cannot find one that doesn't have D3 (at which point I would be triple the daily intake). What should I do?Hi, the Veganuary bundles are designed to provide choices. We have lots of customers taking a range of different doses and e.g. taking a higher dose of D3 once a week but MultiVit everyday. Our recommendation as a starting point is our Omega-3 + MultiVit. This is a great all-round daily regime. We don't offer a standalone Calcium product at the moment.
I recently read that K2 can deteriorate quickly in presence of minerals. How do you ensure stability of K2 over the shelf life of MultiVit?Hi, we use specific forms of minerals and structure the tablet in a way to ensure all nutrients remain stable, and we've conducted extensive stability testing.
Hi,
Just one question:
Do you know, how many oxalate are in the product?
As it contains extract from seeds and tea, it must have something.
I am on a low oxalate diet, so it would be good for me to know if I can still use your product.
Thank you and best wishes,
AndreHi, we use selective extracts rich in the antioxidant compounds from the various plants. Oxalates are not risk items in the extracts we use, and any carry-through quantities would be well below the level of detection.
Hello, my husband and I love your company ethics and take your multivitamins and Omega 3 but are slightly concerned the iron amount in multivit may be too high - recommended dose 8.7mg (for men and post menopausal women) / your dose 14mg. Please can you advise.Hi, thank you for the kind comments. We're governed by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and they provide Nutrient Reference Values (NRVs) for each nutrient. The NRV for Iron is 14mg per day. Here is the legislation for reference: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/lega.... It is challenging when there is conflicting advice for specific age-groups, but the consensus of opinion is the 14mg NRV is a good target across the board.
Do you test for purity and heavy metals at independent laboratories? If so could you please share the results regarding heavy metals.
Many thanksHi, yes the purity of all products is tested to meet strict regulatory requirements. Such results are not in a format to share publicly as they form part of bigger testing reports.
Hi,
I was advised by my doctor to take iron every day because it was extremely low.
I am taking an iron supplement with vitamin C, these are the ingredients:
-Ferrous sulfate 325mg, equivalent to 105mg of elemental iron.
-Absoric acid (Vitamin C) 500mg.
I wonder if taking this iron and the Multivit tablets every day, would be too much iron and vitamin C????
Thanks!!!!Hi, yes the collective Iron level would be too high by adding MultiVit with your existing supplement. The combined Vitamin C level is less of a concern, as it is common to take higher levels. Our advice is to consider using them sequentially (i.e. your Iron/Vit C supplement on Monday, Vegetology MultiVit Tuesday, repeat) as it will give you a good intake of key micronutrients.
Will it cause a problem if someone took 2 MultiVits in one day i.e. forgot they had already taken one and took another?Hi, we don't recommend doing this. However, if it is an isolated case of doubling up on the same day it will not be a problem.
Hello! I read in multiple places to avoid Beta Carotene supplements if one had a history of asbestos exposure, or was a smoker, but that Beta Carotene was fine when consumed naturally in food products. I understand a lot of your vitamins are extracted from food, rather than being synthetic, so perhaps it's not a problem, but both my parents fall into the risk category, so I thought I'd better check. Thanks!Hi, we strongly recommend seeking advice from your Doctor or Health Practitioner when considering any supplements if you have a history of asbestos exposure. We do not expect any negative impact, due to the natural form/origin of our Beta-carotene, but your Doctor can advise based on your individual medical history,
What kind of B12 does this contain?Hi, we use B12 as Cyanocobalamin
Do any of your products help to control blood sugar levels?Hi, we don't have a Supplement formula specifically designed for this purpose but Vitamin D3 is strongly linked with regulation of blood sugar levels. MultiVit is worth consideration because in addition to Vitamin D3, it also contains Vitamin B3, Chromium, Magnesium and Zinc plus antioxidants. All of these items have direct links too.
Bonjour,
Hi, the formula is fine for children, and the adult dose is fine, but the tablet itself is large and is the main reason we do not recommend it for children without taking great care.
Hi, I was wondering do I still need to take Vegan Collagen while taking Multivitamins as I read on the bottle that it has contains Collagen.
If I still need to take Collagen with the multi vitamins then Can i take them together?Hi, our MultiVit formula doesn't contain Collagen. If you are taking a Collagen product, please just check if it contains any additional vitamins or minerals to be sure you are not undesirably doubling up on any nutrients.
does your multi contain potassium?Hi, no it doesn't contain any Potassium
Hi, I'm mainly looking for Collagen supplement for my dull, paper like skin and thinning hair. I'm a vegetarian and all collagen are animal or fish sourced. Can you recommend any of your products, please?Hi, our Multivit is very good for supporting Skin and Hair. We are also close to launching a Vegan Collagen product, hopefully by the end of 2022.
My doctor advised me to take a folic acid supplement (not due to pregnancy). I can see there is 400mcg of Folate in your Multivit. Is Folate same as Folic Acid? I've checked the PregnacyCare, and it has Folate instead of Foli Acid, so I guess is the same thing... but not sure.
Thanks!!! :)Hi, it is the same. In fact, it is Folate you should always look for as it's the active form. The 400mcg stated is as active Folic Acid.
Hi, can I take the MultiVit and the Active Energy together?
Thank you :)Hi, as both products contain Iron, we would recommend using them sequentially (i.e. MultiVit on Monday, Active Energy on Tuesday, repeat). We don't recommend consuming more than 14mg Iron per day unless advised to by your Doctor.
what are the dosages of each of the vitamin/mineral in your multi? i.e. mgHi, full ingredient and nutritional information is displayed on each of the product pages.
Bonjour,
Sous quelle forme est la vitamine C ?Hi, we use Vitamin C in the pure form of Ascorbic Acid
Hi, I would like to know if your product are lactose free? Kind regards. SylvieHi, yes our products are lactose free
Hi,
Will you offer multivitamins without Iodine?
Thx
EwelinaHi, we don't have any plans to bring in a second MultiVit formula at the moment.
The multivits - state 90 tables but 60 days supply - can you please explain that as if i take one table a day surely that should be 90 day supply?Hi, we're refreshing the Vegetology branding and packaging. Right now (August 2022), the MultiVit stock is still in the old packaging and is indeed 90 tablets. The dose is one per day and so yes it is 90 day supply. The refreshed bottle and label will be moving to 60 tablets per bottle. The pricing on the website reflects the new bottle pricing but states '50% extra free' while the old 90 tablet stock sells through.
Hello,
I am impressed with the 26 vitamins and minerals in your Multivitamin tablets. Do you have an accredited independent testing laboratory to validate the contents?
Thanks
GuruHi, yes we adhere to the requirements of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and local authority regulations, so all products are independently assayed accordingly. All of our products are manufactured to British Retail Consortium (BRC) standards.
Buongiorno
Hi, the Vitamin A in our MultiVit consists of 50% Beta-carotene and 50% Retinol in a concentrated form. The 800mcg figure is calculated with the total retinol-equivalent activity level.
Please can you advise when you will be launching your low iron multivitamins.Hi, this isn't currently in our plans due to other upcoming priority product launches.
I’m pregnant and I see you confirm in the FAQ section that I can take VegVit during this period. In fact, I’ve seen nutritionists recommending it over PregnaVie because VegVit contains vitamin A. But my concern is regarding the green tea extract that VegVit contains, as well as the other extracts. Are they safe for pregnant woman?
Thanks in advance!
PatriciaHi, yes VegVit is suitable for use during pregnancy. The Green Tea extract is selectively rich in the Antioxidant compounds. We recommend PregnaVie though because the nutrient levels and balance are specifically designed for suitability throughout Pregnancy and Breastfeeding.
Hello,
Have you or are you considering making a vegan protein powder please?
Warm regards
AndrewHi, it isn't currently in our plans. Protein powders take up so much space because of the large size of the containers. It would mean a much bigger warehouse to be required!
Hello,
Love your products, thank you.
Will you be making a seperate calcium supplement and a magnesium supplement anytime soon?
Warm regards
AndrewHi, they aren't currently in our plans. To be honest, every new product has such a big cost to launch and stock, we need to prioritise.
Do you ship to AustraliaHi, yes we ship globally. We have a lot of customers in Australia :-)
If I give my 10 year old half a tablet, will the second half be OK to use the next day, or will it's contents degrade?Hi, we don't recommend it because the exposed nutrients will degrade upon exposure to the atmosphere.
Is it perfectly okay to mix the daily multi vitamin with the bone health vitamin?Hi, there would be some undesirable doubling up of nutrients, so our advice is to use them sequentially (i.e. MultiVit on Monday, Bone Health on Tuesday, repeat).
Is your iodine from ocean source, or any of your other products, if so are they tested for radiation. Since the oceans are polluted with radiation from Fukushima since 2011 and is still on going.Hi, no the iodine is not ocean source. We do use some seaweed extracts as part of Phytodroitin (vegetal alternative to Chondroitin, found in our Bone Care product) but they are sourced from Europe. We do of course test the purity of all compounds used.
Hello, I have been told by my chiropractor to avoid taking vitamin B12 at the same time as iron as it reduces its absorption, isn't that a problem combining both in one tablet ? I was also wondering if the green tea extract wouldn't reduce the absorption of iron when taken at the same time as tea and coffee should be avoided when taking iron supplements ?Hi, it's absolutely fine to take B12 together with Iron in our Multivitamin We use Iron in an Amino Acid Chelate form, which provides optimum absorption. The Green Tea extract is specifically for antioxidant properties and doesn't contain caffeine (it is caffeine and its diuretic effects that provide the links to advise of avoidance).
Hi, is this safe for my son who is nearly 10 years old?Hi, the formula itself is absolutely fine. The tablet is quite large, so for children under 12 years please take care and consider snapping the tablet in half.
Hi, I'm wondering why the MultiVit only have 15% RDI/NRV for calcium, given that calcium is a nutrient that vegans need to pay particular attention to? I thought it might be due there being a "saturation" point of calcium-absorbtion at 120mg, but that's apparently not the case, having just done a Google search on that.Hi, the Calcium level is simply down to available space in the tablet. If we added any more, the tablet would be too big. We've squeezed as much in as we can.
Will MultiVit alone give me the vitamins I need?MultiVit is a brilliant daily multi-vitamin packed full of 26 vitamins and minerals whilst it does contain vitamin B12 (50mcg), which is sufficient for most people. Some vegans and vegetarians do require higher levels, so it is worth taking additional B12 until you are confident your new vegan diet is providing you with the B12 your body needs. Additionally, it is advisable to take a higher dose of vitamin D3 during the winter months. MultiVit does not contain omega-3 so you would need to take a supplement to get enough omega-3.
Hey, I'm thinking about purchasing this multivitamin but i saw there is iodine on the ingredients and was wondering if this was tested as safe levels for people suffering from hypothyroidism(more specifically hashimoto's) thank you in advanced!Hi, we use the European Nutrient Reference Value (NRV) level of Iodine, which is the accepted level for all adults. We do recommend you seek advice from your Doctor though, as they can consider this (and other nutrients within the supplement) in relation to your individual medical history and any medication you are taking.
Can I take MultiVit with Active Energy Complex?Hi, we've added a "Can be taken with" graphic to each product page. We don't recommend taking Active Energy at the same time as the Multi Vit as you will double-up on some nutrients where it isn't ideal. Therefore we would recommend using them sequentially (e.g. Active Energy on Monday, Multi Vit on Tuesday, repeat).
Hi there, I noticed that in your multi-vitamin product there's vitamin k2 MK-7. Excellent! However, I wonder if you have any idea how much histamine is in the MK-7 supplement. I'm not sure where you extract it from. I'm assuming that most mk-7 supplements will have some histamine level as the vitamin is from a fermented product. I took the spray from another company who tell me that they extract the MK-7 from flowers, telling me that there's likely to be no histamine in it, but my throat and symptoms tell me otherwise. Ultimately I don't suppose there's a lot that can be done about that as fermented food is high in histamine. People with hay-fever, eczema etc, are more likely to have a problem breaking down histamine in food.Hi, thank you for this very good question. the Vitamin K2 MK-7 we use is produced using fermentation, but from a discussion with the producer, it goes through many purification steps and they are confident contains no (or absolute trace) histamine. We are investigating further, as it isn't a question we've come across previously - thank you. If you do try our products, please let us know how you get on.
I'm taking your Multivitamin and Vitashine 2500iu. Is that ok? Not too much D3?Hi, the recognised upper safe limit for daily Vitamin D3 intake is 4000iu, so a combination of the Multivitamin and Vitashine 2500iu (2700iu in total) is well within this range. It will be a really good overall daily intake.
The dose of Vitamin B12 being 2000% of the RDA seems quite high with some observational studies suggesting a link between excessive B12 and cancer (although the link is weak to say the least). Do you have a product / is there one in the pipeline that uses lower doses of B12? In terms of absorption, how much of the 50mcg is actually absorbed - if it is low, the amount of B12 may be significantly less than the 2000%. Thanks!Hi, we use an elevated level of Vitamin B12 because deficiency is rife and with it being a water-based Vitamin, the body grabs what it needs and the rest passes harmlessly through. An elevated level gives the body more chance of getting a sufficient amount. It is perfectly safe and highly beneficial.
are all the products tested third-party? is MultiVit tested by third party and where can we see that data?Hi, yes we are based in UK and operate under the jurisdiction of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the UK's Food Standards Agency (FSA) plus local authority regulations. As such, we have to test everything independently and indeed our products are subject to random testing by authorities.
Am I right in thinking that iron, calcium and magnesium taken together can interfere with each other's apsorption?Hi, you're absolutely right they can interfere with each other. We've carefully designed VegVit with consideration of the forms of these minerals, in order to offer optimum absorption and overcome potential interactions. We use Iron Amino Acid Chelate with Magnesium and Zinc in Citrate forms for this specific reason. The tablet is also structured to manage the rates of absorption.
I was just wondering if you might know why your Multivitamin has much less B-vitamins that other brands? Thank you!Hi, we do us a minimum of 100% recommended daily intake of the B Vitamins, with a highly elevated level of B12 specifically. We've found the chosen levels and combination to be really effective. B Vitamins are water-based and so the body grabs what it needs with the rest passing harmlessly through.
Is this product soy free?Hi, yes all of our products are Soy free.
Hi, yes we always recommend taking all supplements at meal times. This is ideally a meal that contains a little oil, but it is not essential.
Why do you add green tea extract to your otherwise excellent vegan multivitamin? I'm really concerned about the green tea extract that has been linked to acute liver problems. (E.g. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/p...) Is it possible to remove this non-essential and potentially harmful add-on?Hi, we use a small amount of a very high quality (no caffeine and only trace EGCG) Green Tea Extract. We think this adds to the excellence of MultiVit to be honest. Green Tea is an incredible antioxidant. The level we use is safe and highly beneficial for a wide range of health indications. There are no risks at all in relation to liver problems.
It is a question of dose and data-relevance. The conclusions in the paper you cite, while making very important observations, only apply to incredibly concentrated Green Tea and EGCG levels that are a world away from the levels in our MultiVitamin. We unfortunately come across this kind of thing a lot, where articles can cause alarm without digging into the data relevance. If we had any concerns whatsoever about any nutrients, we wouldn't use them.
Please can you tell me if Vegetology is planning to bring out any supplement for Vegans that don't contain vitamin A?. I am worried that taking the multivitamin supplement and a healthy diet might be giving me too much vit. A.Hi, all of our products are suitable for Vegans. MultiVit contains Vitamin A but right now is the only product that does.
I would like to know, which form of B12 is in your Multivitamin and mineral supplement tablets?
It is not clearly marked if you are using methylcolabamine or other form of B12.Hi, we use Cyanocobalamin.
It is a well known issue that many vitamins contain heavy metal and other contaminants. Can you share laboratory test reports to support the purity of your MultiVit?
What is your process for quality assurance from lot to lot?Hi, in Europe we are governed by strict quality requirements under the regulations set by EFSA. We also manufacture to high quality standards. As such, all individual components of our formulas are tested for purity, as are our finished products. The raw data isn't really in a form to share on here, but please rest assured that all quality testing is not only completed, it is monitored and audited by authorities. We manufacture everything in UK, which has some of the strictest quality demands in the world.
I'm only 39 but I've been diagnosed with osteopenia in my hips. I've had 3 children. I've been recommended to take calcium and vitamin d. Will this be enough calcium? Hi, thank you for getting in touch. Bone Care provides the really powerful combination of Calcium + D3 + K2. You will hopefully find it makes a real difference. It's difficult to know exactly how much calcium you require. Our advice is to start with Bone Care and see how things are after a few weeks. Hopefully you will feel improvements. If you take Bone Care alongside other multivitamins, there will be some doubling up of nutrients so it is worth considering using sequentially (i.e. Bone Care on Monday, Multivit Tuesday, repeat).
Can you please specify about Folate in the MultiVit complex? What kind of folate is that?Hi, we use 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF).
If I took the Multivit with a glucosamine tablet would that give me the same benefits as using the Bone Care tablet ?Hi, it is worth trying. Bon Care does also contain our Phytodroitin (non-animal Chondroitin alternative), but certainly for cost reasons it's worth you trying MultiVit + Gluc first to see if that works for you. The alternative is to have MultiVit and Bone Care and use them sequentially, i.e. MultiVit on Monday, Bone Care on Tuesday, repeat.
I saw that in the ingredients there are Magnesium stearate, Silicon Dioxide. why? they are dangerous to your health! Hi, these items are perfectly safe. Please don't believe the internet!! Magnesium stearate is a vegetal-origin compound that we use in small quantities as an emulsifier. It basically helps to hold the tablet together. Silicon Dioxide is basically sand, albeit we use a tiny amount of a very fine and totally pure Silicon Dioxide and its role is to assist with the flow of the powders when trying to construct the tablet. They are totally inert.
Please could you tell me if the iron in these tablets is ferrous or ferric? I'm a bit of a beginner trying to understand what's best and I have read that ferric iron, especially something called ferric EDTA is least reactive and therefore better absorbed?Hi, we use Iron Amino Acid Chelate, which is Ferrous Bisglycinate. Data suggests its the other way around, in that Ferrous is better absorbed than Ferric.
Is this okay to take and then drink a whey protein shake? And also drink chlorophyll water with?Hi, yes that sounds absolutely fine.
Following the Athlete advice on magnesium daily dose of 150-200mg, I wondered what your opinion on magnesium for a normal active person and somebody also taking on marathon training? Looking forward to try these supplements, but I see the magnesium is particularly low at 57mg / dose (the only supplement in the lot that seems to be low on my research, for what I would be needing) any idea why you set that so low? Hi, the level of Magnesium and Calcium in MultiVit were solely dictated by how much room we had left in the tablet. We would love to include more, but the tablet would become too big.
Hii, have there been any use of pesticides in the making of your products and are your products organic? No, we do not use pesticides or ingredients that are treated with pesticides. As some of the nutrients are produced using fermentation and our algal ingredients are grown in tanks rather than taken from the ocean, they are not considered Organic by certifiers.
I was comparing this to the pregnancy multivitamin and wondered why the B12 in the pregnancy vitamin seems much lower? So I was looking to see what else was available and I noticed your Pregnancy Care is only 5mcg, vs your Multivit which is 50mcg? I was wondering why they are formulated differently.Hi, we worked with Nutritionists and established regional guidelines in the formulation of Pregnancy Care. The general consensus is to avoid elevated levels of nutrients, as Pregnancy formulas are primarily to provide balance and need to consider other dietary sources of key nutrients. Our advice is to take Pregnancy Care as the baseline multivitamin during Pregnancy, but seek advice from the Doctor you have low B12 in case it is working topping up with this specific nutrient in a higher dose.
Does this contain any potassium?Hi, no it doesn't contain sources of Potassium
I've been a regular satisfied customer of Vetetology for many years (Multi vit/min and Omega3/D). I have recently had some blood tests which show me low in phosphate. I am right in thinking that neither of the above products have any phosphate in them?Hi, thank you for the kind comments. That is correct, the products don't currently contain any phosphate.
Se puede usar como suplemento de lactancia? la composición es muy similar, y del pregvit no teneis existencias.Hi, yes it can :-)
Hello,
I noticed that iron in MultiVit is chelated but what about copper you use ? Because i read that "free" iron and copper in supplements don't behave like when they are in food and they are oxidizers. Hi, we use Copper Sulphate, which we have found to have very good bioavailability, especially in MultiVit because of the form of other minerals (and how they stay apart).
Is the choline bitrate that you include in the MultiVit a vegan source for dietary choline, and how much of it does it yield? Yes, Choline Bitartrate is vegan (it is produced using a fermentation method) and a very good option for dietary choline. The level in MultiVit is good. If you are seeking additional dietary sources, foods including Tofu, cruciferous vegetables, dried beans and quinoa contain good choline levels too.
My son is almost 11 years old. Can he can take “MultiVit”. He’s already taking “VitaShine” and “Omega-3”. I would like to know if he can take the B12 and eventually how much.Hi, yes the MultiVit formula is suitable for children in terms of its nutrients. The tablets are quite large for children, so we recommend breaking in half. Vitamin B12 is safe because due to its high water-solubility, the body takes what it needs and the rest passes harmlessly through.
What type of folate is used in MultiVit? Thank youHi, it is 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF)
Hi, the levels of nutrients are fine for both adults and children. MultiVit tablets are quite large, so will need to be broken into half for younger children to take.
Salve, i livelli di nutrienti vanno bene sia per gli adulti che per i bambini. Le compresse di VegVit sono piuttosto grandi, quindi dovranno essere divise a metà per essere prese dai bambini più piccoli.
I'm curious as to why you decided to use the iodine from bladderwrack in MultiVit, instead of the potassium iodide? Hi, we wanted to use plant-sources of nutrients within MultiVit, whereas Potassium Iodide is predominantly synthetic.
Does the green tea extract contain caffeine? (What amount?)Hi, no it doesn't. We use Green Tea for its antioxidant properties but the extract does not provide caffeine.
Does the Green tea give you a boost of energy?Hi, we use the Green Tea primarily for its antioxidant properties. MultiVit in general does have energising benefits due to other components (B Vitamins and various Minerals) more so than the Green Tea.
Hi there I was looking for something for my joints and also a multivitamin. But I don’t believe I can take your multivitamin and your joint supplement together. Also is there a reason that you don’t include MSM in your joint supplement?Hi, there is doubling up of some nutrients if taking MultiVit and Joint Care together, but it is safe to do so if you wish. One option many of our customers adopt is to use them interchangeably (so e.g. MultiVit on Monday, Joint Care on Tuesday, repeat).
We found that our Phytodroitin ingredient was providing the potential benefits of MSM, plus to be honest we simply didn't have space for anything else in the tablets!
Orta duda que tengo es sobre el aceite de coco ¿no tiene demasiada grasa saturada? ¿hay otro suplemento que tengan sin jarabe de maiz y aceite de coco que promueva el colageno?Hi, the level of Vitamin D3 within MultiVit is very low (as D3 is active at microgram levels), so the accompanying Medium Chain Triglyceride (from Coconut Oil) and Corn Syrup is equally incredibly low. This is to the extent they are both nutritionally irrelevant.
Buenas tardes, soy vegana
Feliz nocheHi, MultiVit does contain nutrients that have been shown to contribute to normal collagen formation.
We use a small amount of Corn Syrup to spray dry the Vitamin D3 (which starts as an oil) so we can get it into tablets. The level that ends up in MultiVit is incredibly low.
Hi, looking at the multivit, is there a reason why B7, Biotin is not includedHi, VegVit does contain Biotin. It is listed as Biotin rather than B7 (just as we need to for local regulations here).
Is this product MultiVit yeast free?Hi, yes it is.
Hi, I see there’s 14 mg. of iron in MultiVit, I thought that menopausal woman should not take supplements with iron. Can you explain why such a high amount of iron? Hi, MultiVit is designed as a comprehensive multivitamin and mineral, so we’ve include Iron at the recommended level. The level is deemed safe for everyone by regulatory bodies. We would love to add an iron-free version at some point, do individuals seeking to avoid it.
Hey guys
Who are you regulated by? I’m trying to find a UK regulatory body in place (just out of curiosity) and I can’t seem to find much.Hi, our products are regulated by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA). In UK, the Food Standards Agency is the local body that implements EFSA regulations. As a manufacturer, we are regulated by our local authority and British Retail Consortium (BRC) for quality standards.
Whats the source for microcrystalline cellulose? Ive been told if it's a vegetable source fine, if it is from wood pulp steer clear.Hi, we use vegetable source cellulose, which is readily available. That said, I don't know why sources from wood pulp (typically eucalyptus) would be of concern.
I would like a multivitamin and mineral supplement as well as omega 3. I am 62 years old and very active.
What I want to avoid is overdosing on the non water soluble vitamins such as D3, and your multivitamin and Omega 3 supplements both include the RDA for D3..Combining MultiVit and Omega-3 will provide a very good option for you. While the combined level of Vitamin D3 will be 400iu (10mcg), that is still actually considered a relatively low dose. Many Doctors and Health Practitioners routinely suggest individuals take 1000iu (25mcg) or higher, so please be assured the combined level from MultiVit + Omega-3 is perfectly safe.
What form the folic acid in MultiVit is?Hi, we now use Folate in MultiVit.
Which bodies have approved your products?Hi, the main regulations we work to are European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Australia Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) regulations, and we're audited accordingly. Auditing is conducted by local and international authorities.
I was just wondering whether the b12 present in the Multivit is also in a sustained-release form?Hi, no it isn't in sustained release structure within MultiVit. The tablet has to be constructed in a specific way to acheive this, and in MultiVit we need many of the nutrients to absorb faster.
Hi there!
I'm just curious about some of the levels of possibly detrimental vitamins in the multivitamin - particularly iron, Vitamin E/A and Folic Acid. I just wanted to check what points, if any, you have regarding potential overdoses of these vitamins given the amount in this multivitamin sits at around 100% of the RDI for each of those vitamins.
Cheers!Hi, we consulted many nutritional experts and scientific bodies in the development of VegVit. We wanted to get it absolutely right. We used 100% recommended daily intake of most items (based on European figures), as these levels have longstanding safety and health benefit data. The only nutrients we have used in elevated levels (above RDI) are water-soluble Vitamins, as the body grabs what it needs (which is often a lot higher than RDI) and the rest passes through harmlessly. The entirety of the formula has been put together taking into account the average intake of nutrients individuals obtain through dietary sources too, ensuring safety and benefits.
I am suffering from hair loss and grey hair. I was thinking of taking a b12 supplement and a multivitamin, but after seeing that multivitamin has b12 do I need to take b12 or multivitamin is enough.Hi, there is a good dose of B12 within MultiVit, so unless you are seeking a very high dose, MultiVit should be suitable and you will hopefully find some of the other nutrients in there to be beneficial too.
Can you take MultiVit it while also taking spirulina and chlorella or will this be too much together?
ThanksHi, as long as your Spirulina and Chlorella are not artificially fortified with additional vitamins, it will be fine (and no doubt really beneficial) to take together with MultiVit.
Hi, I heard you can't take iron and calcium at the same time as they lower each other's absorption. Is that really the case? That certainly can be the case. One of the main thing we've done with our Multivitamin formulas is use different forms of the various nutrients (so in the case of Iron we use Iron Amino Acid Chelate). This, along with the way we construct the supplements, keeps certain nutrients apart to ensure optimum absorption and efficacy.
Why are there no omega 3 vitamins included?Hi, omega-3 EPA & DHA are in oil form and also take up a lot of space. We would have to make MultiVit into a liquid capsule but it would also need to be so big it just wouldn't work.
Is this good for kids too?Hi, yes it is beneficial. The tablets are quite large though, so may need to be broken in half.
What's the bioavailability of the iron in MultiVit like, considering it also has a small does of calcium which is known to inhibit iron absorption? We've constructed the MultiVit tablet with absorption and bioavailability very much in mind. We use Amino Acid Chelate forms of various minerals, and the tablet is designed to keep certain nutrients apart.
Hi!
If copper can be toxic to the body, why include it in the formulation? This all comes down to dose. Copper is highly beneficial at the level we use (1mg per daily dose). It contributes to normal: energy-yielding metabolism, functioning of the nervous system, iron transport in the body, skin pigmentation, function of the immune system and protection of cells from oxidative stress.
Is this product nut-free?Yes. All of our products are free from nuts.
Lecim se od smanjene funkcije stitne zlezde.Da li mogu koristiti ovaj suplament?Prije uzimanja bilo kakvih dodataka, potražite savjet svog doktora. Vaš ljekar može dati preporuke na osnovu vaše medicinske anamneze i bilo kojeg lijeka koji uzimate za štitnjaču. Vjerojatno će reći da je VegVit prikladan za vas.
What is the difference between Active Energy Complex and MultiVit?MultiVit is designed to be an 'all-rounder' multivitamin and mineral supplement, with a full spectrum of 26 nutrients. It does contain B Vitamins, which contribute to energy.
Active Energy Complex is specifically designed to target tiredness and fatigue, combining B Vitamins with herbs used in traditional Chinese medicines and other selected nutrients. The aim is to help reset the body clock and try to energise at the right time of the day but relax at the right time of the night.
Do you use Methylcobalamin or Cyanocobalamin? We use Cyanocobalamin as it is the most stable form of vitamin B12 for a good shelf life. We have tested the methylcobalamin content of many different products and found it simply is not stable even over short periods in such supplements.
Is the vitamin K2 all-trans?Hi, yes, we use Vitamin K2 MK-7.
There's a disclaimer stating:
"These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. "
Does this mean that this product hasn't been approved by the FDA ? Or is it just about the "Benefits" text that isn't verified by the FDA? Hi, that is a standard statement/disclaimer required by law (through US FDA) to be displayed on supplements sold into USA. You will find the same wording on all supplements there, and is a key part of how they differentiate between supplements and medicines. Our products meet US FDA requirements and indeed our facility here in UK is FDA certified.
If I cut the vegvit tablet in half can my 6yr old take it?The levels of nutrients in VegVit are suitable for children but we must recommend caution as the tablets are still quite large even when cut in half. Please seek advice from your Doctor before giving any supplements to children, so they can consider the medical history and advise accordingly.
What form of vitamin A is in MultiVit? Is it pre-formed and what is the source? I’m curious because I have a variation in the BCMO1 gene that causes lower beta carotene conversion. The Vitamin A within MultiVit is 50% Beta-carotene and 50% Vitamin A concentrate. The stated 800mcg level is the retinol-equivalent activity level.
I am worried about the Vitamin A content. As it already slightly exceeds the RDI for women and with all the veg containing vitamin A that I eat I am worried that I would be taking in far too much of this vitamin than is actually safe. Can you advise please. The ‘tolerable upper limit’ is 3000mcg. MultiVit contains 800mcg, which is 100% of the ‘Nutritional Reference Value’ (NRV, which replaced the previous description of ‘Recommended Daily Amount’ – RDA). The NRV for supplements is set to take into account the likely/average dietary intake of nutrients.
So in summary, the level of 800mcg Vitamin A is well within safe and recommended guidelines, taking into consideration other dietary intakes of Vit A. The upper limit is significantly higher.
Hi! Is MultiVit and Omega-3 safe to take with hormonal birth control pills (as in, will it mess with the absorption if taken at the same time/weaken the effect of the birth control)? We cannot see any reason why MultiVit and/or Omega-3 would interfere with hormonal birth control pills, but please check the advice from the control pill manufacturer or consult your Doctor. As there are so many varieties, we always recommend getting specific advice, and the manufacturer should have information available.
Where do you source your vitamins and minerals for the multivitamin pills? Are your vitamins 100% food/plant sourced? We source everything from plants (or fermentation) wherever possible. In VegVit, the only exception is Vitamin C which is synthetic.
In the MultiVitamin, is the iodine in your product extracted from seaweed or if it just contains seaweed itself? We use iodine extracted from Bladderwrack seaweed, so the 150mcg stated is the actual level of iodine in VegVit.
Why did you move from Vit K1 to K2?We moved from K1 to K2 in VegVit because it has significantly better absorption and efficacy in our opinion, based on the research we did and reviewed. We don't see a need for anyone to try and obtain K1 from supplementation if they are already getting K2.
I'm wondering if the B12 is cyanocobalamin or methylcobalamin? It's cyanocobalamin.
I’ve noticed my urine is very yellow when I take MultiVitThis is quite common when taking supplements with high amounts of B Vitamins. It is absolutely normal, fine and safe. The body takes the B Vitamins that it needs and anything extra is just removed. It shows you are getting enough of the B Vitamins from MultiVit with some to spare!
Can I give to my pets? Some of our customers manage to persuade their cats and dogs to take MultiVit, although the tablets need to be crushed in order for them to do so. We recommend speaking to your Vet before giving MultiVit to any animals.
Food allergies and MultiVitMultiVit is free from wheat, dairy, gluten and sugar-based ingredients. MultiVit contains sunflower oil-derived Vitamin E.
How does MultiVit compare to other Multivitamin supplements? We talk about MultiVit being multivitamin "engineering" and that is a key difference. The MultiVit formula is balanced and optimised to aid absoprtion and bioactivity. MultiVit also contains vegan Vitamin D3 and our proprietary superfood complex.
