How much vitamin D (IU) and calcium (mcg) are in each tablet as I have specific advice from my GP?Hi, the Nutritional Facts are shown on the product pages, right below the product images at the top. This product contains 5mcg (200iu) Vitamin D3 and 400mg Calcium per tablet. It's likely your GP meant mg rather than mcg for Calcium, as the latter isn't used for this nutrient (for reference: 400mg is 400,000mcg).
Normally I take bone care supplements with multi vitamins but I would like to change to
The new calcium supplement and the new magnesium supplement with vitamin C ( when needed) with this choice do I alternate?
I do this with multi vitamins and bone care supplements?Hi, you can take our Calcium + Magnesium supplements together with Vitamin C as a daily routine no problem.
Please help explain how safe it is to take Calcium with D3 and no K2? From what I read and heard from doctors "Taking Vitamin D3 with Vitamin K2 helps to ensure the calcium transported by the Vitamin D is absorbed by your bones where it's needed, rather than accumulating in deposits in your arteries." I hope this is taken as with concern for long term health in a positive way and not an insult. I am concerned your Supplement does not consider its full potential. There is also no warning of how calcium without K2 can impact heart health.Hi, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) provides advice based on nutrients taken individually, so the levels we use are on that basis for safety and efficacy. It is correct that the ideal combination is Calcium + Magnesium + Vitamin D3 + Vitamin K2. We have this combination in our Bone Care formulation. The concerns such as those you refer to are for elevated levels and do not necessarily account for real-world intake (such is the problem with online reports and quotes). When designing our formulas, we have to account for the fact most of our customers combine different supplements, so actually putting K2 into our Calcium + D3 supplement would mean over 3/4 of our customers couldn't take it due to already having supplemental K2 from elsewhere.
Can this be taken with the Bone Health tablets?Hi, yes taking our Bone Care and Calcium + Vit D3 tablets together is a very good combination. If we could fit more Calcium into the Bone Care formula, we would've loved to! Calcium takes up so much space (as it is light and we need a lot of it).
Why do you use Calcium Carbonate?Calcium Carbonate is often considered a cost-effective option in supplements because it contains a high potency of elemental Calcium, which is the actual amount of Calcium available for absorption by the body. This makes it more efficient than some other forms of Calcium, which may contain lower amounts of elemental Calcium. We’ve included Vitamin D3, as it helps regulate Calcium absorption in the body. Vitamin D3 works synergistically with Calcium, effectively "turbocharging" its benefits by enhancing the body's ability to absorb and utilise Calcium, making this combination more effective for supporting bone and muscle health.
How long will it take to see results from taking Calcium + Vitamin D3?The time it takes to see noticeable results can vary depending on the individual, their diet, and any existing deficiencies. For general muscle function support, it may take a few weeks to a couple of months for noticeable effects. However, if you're addressing a Calcium or Vitamin D deficiency, it may take several weeks to a few months for bone health or muscle function to improve, depending on the severity of the deficiency and your body's response to supplementation.
Can I take this supplement if I’m allergic to dairy?Yes, all our supplements are dairy free.
How does Calcium + Vitamin D3 help with muscle function?Calcium is essential for muscle contraction, as it helps muscles respond to signals from nerves. It plays a key role in the contraction of muscle fibers. Vitamin D3 helps your body absorb calcium more efficiently, ensuring that your muscles receive the calcium they need for proper function. Together, they help maintain muscle strength, prevent cramps, and support overall muscle health.
I really dislike chewing calcium tablets - can these just be swallowed? are they small enough to do that?Hi, the tablets can be swallowed but are quite large (1.4cm in diameter) so chewing is advised. Calcium does have an inherent 'chalky' mouth texture but taking our tablets with some water help, and we've formulated the tablet to be as easy to take as possible.
