I am taking your omega 3 capsules twice a day and was interested to know what the outside of the capsules is made from.I found in the ingredients that one of the elements is sodium carbonate. On looking it up, my research shows it is known as soda ash or washing soda. Can you please confirm what this ingredient is? I am sure it’s absolutely safe but just want to understand it better. Also, in regard to your new concentrated omega 3 liquid, would it be viable/healthy to take 2 ml a day so the dosage is similar to having 2 capsules a day? Hi, the Omega-3 capsule shell is made using carrageenan (a natural seaweed-derived material) and modified potato starch. Together they allow formation of a shell structure that is stable and durable enough to work with the Omega-3 Oil. Sodium Carbonate is just present to modify the pH of the shell mix, as it needs to be carefully balanced to achieve the stable shell structure. It is natural, completely safe, and present at a tiny level solely to modify that pH. It is absolutely fine to take 2ml of the new Omega-3 Liquid Concentrate.
What is D3V? Hi, it is plant-source Vitamin D3
I have a query about your Omega 3 EPA and DHA which I have been taking.Someone has recently said to me the the human body can't convert thegreen omegas EPA and DHA into integrins, resolvins and maresins and thatfish do this so it is best to take fish oil. Please would you have any research or information you could direct meto, to clarify this for me because as a strict vegan this important to me.Hope you can give me information to help clear this up. Hi, this isn't the case. We know EPA and DHA are the direct precursors to resolvins, maresins, and protectins. So EPA and DHA from microalgae, as we use, are identical to those found in fish. The link has been confused along the way with research into the ALA form of Omega-3, which does have very low conversion efficiency. As long as you obtain Omega-3 in the forms of EPA & DHA, the source has no impact on efficacy.
I read the FAQs on your website but I still don't quite understand why the dose is lower in the concentrate that in the capsules, please can you explain it? Also, is there a difference in effectiveness between taking omega 3 as a liquid versus as capsules? Hi, the Omega-3 Concentrate is dosed per 1ml (150mg EPA & 300mg DHA), so is very highly potent. The Omega-3 Capsules are dosed per 2 capsules and the Omega-3 Liquid per 5ml. The Omega-3 Oil itself is identical, and the headline 150mg EPA & 300mg DHA levels are the minimum quantities of each. If you wanted the same actual intake, you can take 2ml of the Omega-3 Concentrate and the intake dose will be identical to taking 2 x Omega-3 Capsules or 5ml of the Omega-3 Liquid.
Does your new liquid Omega 3 with the pipette contain DPA? It’s not listed, unlike on the soft gels & liquid bottles! Hi, yes it contains DPA in the same ratio as the our other Omega-3 formulas. We don't list it on the product label due to a lack of space (and because it isn't one of the primary Omega-3 forms we're focusing on), but it is most certainly there!
Why is the EPA/DHA lower than the capsules? Our capsules and liquid provide 300mg EPA and 500mg DHA per daily dose. The concentrate provides 150mg EPA and 300mg DHA in just 1ml — a potent dose in a fraction of the volume. It's designed for convenience and ease, particularly for those who find larger doses difficult to take.
Does it contain Iodine? Our Omega-3 products do not contain Iodine.
What form is the Omega-3? It is in Triglyceride form. We grow our microalgae in controlled conditions at a pharmaceutical-quality specialist facility, which allows us to guarantee the complete purity of the product.
How is the algae grown? The algae are grown in tanks at a pharmaceutical-quality facility, rather than taken from the ocean. This ensures the highest possible purity. No additional chemicals are required.
Is it suitable for children? Yes. The dropper format makes it easy to adjust the dose for younger family members.
How much should I take? One full pipette (1ml) per day is the recommended dose. It can be taken directly or added to food.
How is the Omega-3 Concentrate different from the capsules or liquid? It's the same trusted algal Omega-3, just in a more concentrated format. While our capsules require 2 per day and our liquid requires a 5ml teaspoon, the concentrate delivers EPA and DHA in just 1ml — making it ideal if you prefer a smaller, quicker dose.
